Roster News: Jets sign WR Walthall as Skinner waived/injured

The Jets are making another move:

The Jets are waiving WR Quentin Skinner with an injury designation, per source. They are signing WR Jalen Walthall, a rookie out of Incarnate Word, who was waived by the Texans last week.

Skinner showed something last season but the Jets have plenty of other tall options in camp, perhaps in part because he was hurt. We'll see how serious the injury is but he could revert to injured reserve and remain there all year.

Walthall himself is just 6'1" and his athletic numbers were mostly about average apart from an impressive 131-inch broad jump. He had almost 1,300 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in 2024 but his numbers were down slightly last year as he had 847 yards and eight TDs albeit in four fewer games.
