Roster News: Jets to sign S Amos

The Jets are making another move:

It's been noted that both Chuck Clark and Jordan Whitehead are probably better in the box than playing deep, so signing Amos potentially gives the Jets an option to start as a deep safety or play deep in three-safety sets.

The 30-year old Amos has played the majority of his snaps as a deep safety over the course of his career and made plenty of plays in coverage with 13 career interceptions. He had a career-high 102 tackles last season but his coverage numbers were below his usual standard.
