Roster News: Jets to sign Countess, place Osemele on IR?
The Jets apparently made a signing today:
Sources tell me the New York Jets have signed safety Blake Countess, four year veteran who was with the Eagles in camp this summer before getting injured.

This makes some sense with the Jets only having four safeties on the roster at the moment. Although Countess came from Philadelphia, he's more closely linked to Gregg Williams, having played mostly in a reserve role on Williams' Rams' defense in his rookie season. The Eagles claimed Countess back in May, but Douglas was gone within just over a month.
The 26-year old Countess is a former sixth round pick with four career starts. He's a good special teamer and capable of lining up in the slot.
The corresponding move seems pretty obvious:
Sources: #Jets G Kelechi Osemele is having surgery to repair his shoulder. Rough news for a team coming off its first win. This dates back to the issues that first popped up a few weeks ago.

Fortunately for the Jets, Osemele's replacement, Alex Lewis, has performed well in his place so far. Osemele has a big cap hit next year, but no guaranteed money, but Lewis is out of contract at the end of the season so the Jets may seek an extension if he keeps doing well.
