A surprise move here:
More Antonio Brown fallout: Patriots are trading WR Demaryius Thomas in the division to the NY Jets for a 2021 sixth-round pick, sources tell ESPN.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) September 10, 2019
Perhaps the most surprising aspect of this trade is the fact that the Jets would deal with the Patriots. Somehow it seems unlikely they'd give up a player they thought could help their rivals for a measly late round pick.
Thomas, who of course has a history with Adam Gase from his time in Denver, is undoubtedly past his prime despite only being 31 years old. His numbers have been sinking over the past few years and he tore his Achilles in December.
However, he does bring an element of size and physicality that the current receiving corps arguably lacks.
