Roster News: Jets waive Brandon Bryant

A minor move ahead of tonight's Bollinger Bowl:

Bryant was acquired last year by the Jets after going unselected in the supplemental draft. He failed to make the team as a rookie, spending virtually the whole season on the practice squad. Bryant had 17 tackles, one pass defensed and one sack in six preseason games as a Jet.

Last week, he had two personal fouls plus one other play that was initially called as a third, only for the flag to be somewhat generously picked up. He also suffered a head injury making the hit that drew the last of those flags.

The Jets haven't specified that he was waived with an injury designation, so perhaps he's been cleared. Either way, he didn't seem likely to play tonight having missed practice all week and was an unlikely candidate to make the roster after the recent additions of Godwin Igwebuike and Derrick Kindred.
