Roster News: Jets waive PR/KR Kalif Raymond

In news that should surprise nobody, the Jets have opted to move on from return special Kalif Raymond after Sunday's costly muff while the game was still close right before half time:

It's somehow fitting that the Jets should illustrate this news with a picture of a football on the ground because Raymond's three muffs in two games are unquestionably what cost him his job. He actually looked pretty good when he caught the ball.

As to who will replace him, the Jets could opt to move Jeremy Kerley onto punt returns and maybe kick-offs as well, although that hasn't really been his bag in the past.

Alternatives include Elijah McGuire, who is the back-up to Kerley at both positions on the latest depth chart. Practice squad members Marcus Murphy and Jojo Natson are also return options, but Lucky Whitehead would be ineligible to return to the Jets at this time and Jalin Marshall is suspended for two more weeks.

In other news, the Jets also re-signed Claude Pelon back onto the practice squad. This transaction actually took place on Saturday but the team announced the move today.
