Roster News: McCrary-Ball also headed to IR
It's not just Quincy Williams that the Jets are losing from their linebacker unit.
We’ve placed LBs Quincy Williams and Marcelino McCrary-Ball on injured reserve and signed LB Mark Robinson.

We’ve also signed LB Ben Niemann to the practice squad and released OL Liam Fornadel from the practice squad.

This is rough for the Jets, who used McCrary-Ball as Williams' replacement in the Bucs game. In addition he's their special teams captain and tied for the league lead in special teams tackles.
Add Niemann to the mix of options they have to decide between now. Niemann is a 30-year old journeyman who spent time on Aaron Glenn's Lions defense last year. Despite starting four games, he only averaged just over 10 snaps per game over the course of the season. He does have 25 starts in his career, though, with 264 tackles, eight tackles for loss, six quarterback hits and four pass breakups.
