Roster News: Moore placed on IR, Jets add five to active roster

The Jets have made their moves ahead of the Saints game:

It's been evident since early in the week that Moore's quad injury was going to cause him to miss multiple games and the team probably just held off on announcing this before now because they wanted to Saints to have to gameplan for him.

Smith being elevated is no surprise, especially with Jeff Smith being placed on Covid-19 reserve and the team obviously opted to bring in Montgomery too for extra cover.

The team has been able to exploit the fact that they've had players on Covid reserve to continue elevating Blair without adding him to the 53-man roster, allowing them a bit more flexibility.

Brown is being elevated for the second time, which again was an obvious move once Trevon Wesco was ruled out.

Echols' return is a welcome boost, but Bryce Huff and Tyler Kroft remain on injured reserve for at least another week.

The Jets will need to make seven players inactive on Sunday, one of which can be an offensive lineman.
