The Jets have made a roster move which is more ceremonial than significant with Aaron Rodgers being signed back to the 53-man roster.
Rodgers is eligible to play, but will not. However, with his 21-day window expiring, he had to be added to the 53 otherwise he wouldn't be able to practice with the team as he continues his rehab process.
The more interesting aspect here is the corresponding move.
To make room for Aaron Rodgers on the 53-man roster, the Jets have waived FB Nick Bawden.— Field Yates (@FieldYates) December 20, 2023
Bawden is a good fullback with excellent versatility but the Jets haven't been able to use him much as they've constantly been trailing and forced to abandon their running game. He reportedly had a knee injury so may be about to revert to injured reserve.
