Roster News: S Colbert signed to active roster, OT Williams released

The Jets made an obvious roster move after Sunday's game.

Colbert was elevated from the practice squad for the last two games and ended up in a starting role after Sheldrick Redwine blew a coverage leading to Robby Anderson's touchdown in the Carolina game. You can only be elevated twice (unless it's as a Covid-19 replacement), so Colbert needed to be added to the roster to stay in the lineup.

The Jets also have Redwine and Jarrod Wilson on the roster at safety and Ashytyn Davis will come off injured reserve soon.

Williams was active on Sunday but didn't get on the field. He may now be re-signed to the practice squad. This will leave the Jets with just seven offensive linemen on the active roster but they will probably elevate one on Saturday because eight of your 48 active players need to be offensive linemen.

Amazingly, the Jets suffered no new injuries in yesterday's game.
