Roster News: Second wave of cuts underway, including Minter, Bass and Reyes

After several cuts (of the 15-20 Todd Bowles claimed to have already made early this morning) leaked out this morning, more are forthcoming.

NJ.com's Darryl Slater reports that edge rusher David Bass has also been released and Brian Costello of the New York Post reports the same with regard to Kendall Reyes. Both veterans were way down on the depth chart (although Bass was officially listed as second string) but actually each played really well last night.

UPDATE: Costello also reports that Mych Thomas and Kevin Minter have been released.

Thomas is not a surprise, although he might be a candidate for the practice squad. Minter is somewhat surprising though, as most people expected him to make the final 53 with Kevin Pierre-Louis suspended for week one. Does this mean Anthony Wint will make the team?

Here's the updated state of the roster:

Color coding is as follows:

Green - Players we assume are locks to be on the 53

Yellow - Players who we assume will be cut

Red - Players who have been confirmed as cut or waived/injured

Pink - Players who are suspended on opening day

Blue - PUP list (Rontez Miles is the only eligible player)

The Jets have until 4pm ET tomorrow and actually waited until after the deadline to announce the cuts officially last season.
