Roster News: Austin to IR, White and Luvu added to active roster

The Jets announced their final roster tweaks ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Austin practiced on Friday and was listed as questionable for the game, but the Jets have opted to proceed with caution, perhaps influenced by what happened with Quincy Enunwa and his neck injury. We're probably now back to a Bryce Hall/Arthur Maulet/Lamar Jackson cornerback trio for the time being although we may soon see new addition Corey Ballentine in the mix.

Luvu was eligible to return after missing three weeks. He hasn't played much on defense this year but has been a core special teamer in his six appearances. He has seven total tackles and one pressure.

The White move was inevitable because they've used up the two practice squad elevations for this player and had a free roster spot. Adam Gase implied during the week that there is no realistic chance of us seeing James Morgan active as the number two this season.

The Jets apparently did not elevate anyone from the practice squad this week so only five players will need to be inactive tomorrow.
