The Leftovers - Midseason update

It's time to update ourselves on how some of the players who were on the Jets' roster either this year or last year are faring on their new teams.

We'll start with the highest profile players and work our way down the list:

Ryan Fitzpatrick - QB - Tampa Bay

Jets fans had to suffer through being on the end of Fitzpatrick winning his first start of the season. He'll get more chances too, with Winston still being rested and now facing some more off-field controversies. Fitzpatrick wasn't great against the Jets, completing just 50 percent of his passes and throwing a first-half pick. However, his fourth quarter touchdown pass was decisive in their 15-10 win and he now has a quarterback rating of 82.6 in limited action so far this year.

Brandon Marshall - WR - New York Giants

Marshall's season has been over for some time as he had season-ending ankle surgery last month. Even before that, his time with the Giants was not going well as he had just 18 catches for 154 yards in five games. His best game saw him catch eight passes for 66 yards in the last second loss to the Eagles in week three. That included an 18-yard catch - his longest of the year.

Eric Decker - WR - Tennessee

Decker is also having a disappointing year. He has 31 receptions and a touchdown in 10 games, but for only 303 yards. He's averaging just 9.8 yards per catch which is easily the lowest of his career. At least he's still contributing and has a shot at playing in the postseason with the Titans at 6-4 after last night's loss.

David Harris - LB - New England

Harris was barely getting any reps earlier in the season, but New England has needed him since Donta' Hightower's season-ending injury. He has started two games and has done a reasonably good job, but is still only in a rotational role. Harris had a career-low of 75 tackles entering this year, but has just eight tackles so far for the Patriots.

Breno Giacomini - OT - Houston

Giacomini has been starting at right tackle all year for the Texans but has been really bad. He's grading out as the second worst tackle in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus, having surrendered five sacks, six penalties and over 50 total pressures.

Calvin Pryor - S - Jacksonville

Pryor is currently on injured reserve with the Jaguars but is eligible to return and has been practicing with the team. He was cut by the Browns after fighting with a teammate and recently made headlines by badmouthing them in the media.

Marcus Gilchrist - S - Houston

Gilchrist has been a nice pickup for the Texans, as he's been starting for them since week four and has played well. He's racked up 30 tackles, an interception, a sack and a forced fumble. However, he was beaten for a touchdown by Seth Devalve a few weeks ago.

Nick Folk - K - Tampa Bay

Folk won the Bucs' placekicker job but didn't last very long as he missed seven kicks in just four games, including three in a five-point loss to New England. They actually released him with an injury designation so he's still on injured reserve there.

Geno Smith - QB - New York Giants

Smith has thrown just two passes this season, with both incomplete and one of them batted down at the line of scrimmage. With Eli Manning struggling, Smith might get a chance to see some more playing time as the season progresses. However, he wasn't very impressive in preseason and there's not much noise from the fanbase calling for him to get his shot. Some have suggested they should skip Geno and go right to Davis Webb, but Ben McAdoo has said he has no plans to use the rookie this season. That sounds familiar.

Jarvis Jenkins - DL - Kansas City

Jenkins remains with the Chiefs as a rotational lineman but he's barely been used this year. In four games, he has just one tackle.

Dexter McDougle - CB - Philadelphia

McDougle, traded for Terrence Brooks following an impressive preseason, was released a few days ago by the Eagles. He had recorded just five tackles in eight games and wasn't getting much playing time.

Bruce Ellington - WR - Houston

Ellington has been a useful player for Houston and their buzz this week that his role is set to expand. He has 19 catches for 231 yards and a couple of touchdowns and also had 12 yards rushing and a 17-yard punt return.

CJ Spiller - Kansas City

Spiller has had a bizarre season, being released by the Chiefs four times so far. He's actually only played for them once, carrying twice for zero yards.

Jordan Todman - RB/KR - Houston

Todman has been contributing on special teams in his eight games with the Texans, recording four tackles and one kickoff return for 23 yards. He hasn't played any offensive snaps and missed some time with a calf injury.

Trevor Reilly - OLB - New England

Reilly was recently claimed from Miami and has seen a few defensive reps over the past month for the Patriots. He's contributed a few tackles on special teams too, including a nice hit in Sunday's game.

Tommy Bohanon - FB - Jacksonville

Bohanon has retained the Jaguars' starting fullback role, making five starts. He has two carries for zero yards as a rusher but caught six passes for 43 yards and his first NFL touchdown as a pass catcher.

Raheem Mostert - RB - San Francisco

Mostert's main contributions with the 49ers have been on special teams, where he has seven tackles. He's also returned five kickoffs, albeit without much success. On offense, he hasn't played much, but has 30 yards on six carries.

Jesse Davis - OL - Miami

Injury issues in Miami led to Davis ending up on the active roster despite a rough preseason and he's been seen time at left guard and both tackle positions. He's started the last three games and while he is grading out poorly, he's only given up one sack and two penalties.

Shelby Harris - DL - Denver

After a phenomenal preseason that saw him grade out as the best player in the entire NFL according to PFF, Harris has forged a role for himself with the Broncos. He's made one start, recording 19 tackles, two passes defensed and two sacks. He also came up with a game-clinching field goal block and has been excellent against the run.

Kalif Raymond - WR/KR/PR - New York Giants

Raymond was added to the Giants' practice squad after the Jets let him go and was recently added to their active roster.

Travaris Cadet - RB/KR - Buffalo

Cadet was picked up by the Bills a few weeks ago, but hasn't been active for them yet.

Shamarko Thomas - S - Buffalo

Thomas has only played a few snaps on defense for the Bills, but has made some contributions on special teams, including three tackles in coverage.

Marcus Williams - CB - Houston

Williams made an early impact with the Texans, intercepting a pass against Seattle in his second game. However, he's not had much overall success in a reserve role and was beaten for a touchdown by Sammy Watkins last week.
