- Harrison Phillips did not practice;
- In one-on-ones, Omar Cooper beat Malachi Moore and Jarvis Brownlee for catches, Brandon Stephens broke up a pass to Wilson and AD Mitchell drew a pass interference penalty from AZ Thomas. Also, Arian Smith made a great catch on Dane Belton;
- The run defense was solid early in team drills with stops from Jamien Sherwood twice and T'Vondre Sweat;
- Cade Klubnik connected with Mason Taylor on a roll-out;
- Geno Smith, who had a solid day, hit Mitchell down the middle for an early big gain;
- David Bailey dropped into coverage and blew up a pass intended for Kene Nwangwu;
- Brady Cook overthrew a wide open (Arian) Smith;
- Dane Belton forced an incompletion on a deep throw to Wilson, with Bailey pressuring (Geno) Smith on an inside move;
- Smith hit Wilson again over the middle and then hit Isaiah Williams on an out route;
- Ruckert got open for a nice catch, then fumbled the ball, but bounced back with two more catches;
- Sam Womack intercepted Klubnik on a pass that was juggled by Chip Trayanum;
- Brownlee had a nice pass breakup on Williams; and
- Klubnik was intercepted again, this time by Thomas, off a Will McDonald deflection.
There was also a roster move today:
We've signed EDGE Nate Lynn and CB Keenan Garber
— New York Jets (@nyjets) August 18, 2026
We've also waived DL Ben Barten and waived/injured EDGE Kingsley Jonathan
Lynn was with the Lions as a UDFA in Aaron Glenn's last season as their defensive coordinator in 2024. He was a defensive tackle in college, racking up 28 sacks in his last three seasons at William & Mary, but weighed in at 253 at his pro day so he has since converted to an edge role. The 24-year old has yet to make his NFL debut but did have a couple of preseason sacks.
Garber is also a former UDFA who hasn't made his NFL debut yet. He is a good athlete who played on the outside in college but saw action in the slot with the Vikings in preseason last year.
Barten and Jonathan were deep long-shots anyway, so losing them is no big deal.
