Training Camp Practice Recap - 8/19/26

Training camp continued today with media on hand for the Jets' practice. Here's what went down according to those on hand:

  • It was a lighter practice, in shells;
  • Qwan'tez Stiggers made his return, albeit in a red no-contact jersey;
  • Geno Smith didn't complete a single pass as he ended up 0-for-3 on the day. He had one pass completion to Mason Taylor negated by a flag for an illegal shift and one was blown dead because of a Jarvis Brownlee sack;
  • Harrison Phillips also had a sack;
  • Jowon Briggs had a tackle for loss and Dane Belton had a pass breakup;
  • Cade Klubnik had the first completion of the day to Garrett Wilson;
  • Klubnik ended up five for five in the red zone with touchdowns to Kene Nwangwu and Jelani Woods; and
  • Cade York got the better of the kicking duel today as he made five out of five including a 60-yarder. Jason Sanders missed one of his five.

There was also a roster move today:

Sheffield muffed a punt on Friday and didn't play any offensive snaps, so he won't be a major loss. Bergen brings similar return abilities with the former seventh round pick having returned six punts for touchdowns in his final two seasons of college.
