Training Camp Practice Recap - 8/24/26
Training camp continued today with media on hand for the Jets' practice. Here's what went down according to those on hand:
- Among the Jets working over with the trainers were Breece Hall, Kenyon Sadiq, D'Angelo Ponds, Mory Bamba and Mykal Walker;
- Nahshon Wright returned to practice and Qwan'tez Stiggers practiced without a no-contact jersey;
- David Bailey beat Olu Fashanu for a sack early on in the team period;
- In goal line work, Azareye'h Thomas and Darrell Jackson combined to stop Kene Nwangwu but the first team scored on a Nwangwu touchdown run and Geno Smith's pass to Andrew Beck;
- The second team scored on a Chip Trayanum run as he trucked Brandon Stephens but Cade Klubnik was also sacked by Joseph Ossai;
- Dane Belton sacked Smith and Ossai blew up a run for a loss in the next team period. Stephens also broke up a pass intended for AD Mitchell;
- In red zone work, Klubnik threw a 10-yard touchdown to Isaiah Williams;
- The Jets closed out practice by marching downfield on a two-minute drill. Smith was 5-for-5 with good completions to Mason Taylor and Garrett Wilson, and then an 18-yard touchdown pass to Omar Cooper; and
- Cade York missed two of his five field goal attempts, from 38 and 44 yards. However, Jason Sanders was even worse, as he missed three of five.
