Training Camp Recap - 7/30/22

The Jets held their fourth training camp practice of 2022 today with media and fans on hand, so here's what went down based on reports from those in attendance:

  • Braxton Berrios, who has been dealing with a leg injury, returned to team drills;
  • Carl Lawson beat Chuma Edoga for a sack;
  • Ace Carter, Ty Johnson and Breece Hall had some good success running the ball;
  • Conor McDermott got some first team reps at left tackle and was also beaten by Lawson;
  • Garrett Wilson made an impressive diving catch from Zach Wilson, then had another good catch from Joe Flacco;
  • Flacco connected with Rashard Davis on a long touchdown;
  • Davis then beat Rachad Wildgoose for another long catch from Mike White;
  • Elijah Moore made a diving catch on a low pass by Wilson;
  • DJ Reed, Kai Nacua, Deuce Carter, Sauce Gardner and Brandin Echols all made plays in coverage;
  • Irvin Charles made a catch on a White pass;
  • Jacob Martin beat Mekhi Becton for a sack;
  • John Franklin-Myers picked up a sack on an inside rush against Max Mitchell and then Mitchell was beaten by Bryce Huff for another sack;
  • Wilson connected on a first down pass to Tarik Black;
  • Moore got behind Bryce Hall to draw a deep pass interference flag;
  • Keshunn Abram had catches from Flacco and White;
  • Denzel Mims had a drop and then came down out of bounds on a sideline catch;
  • In red zone work, Wilson threw a pick six to Reed but then bounced back with touchdowns to Jeff Smith and Tyler Conklin;
  • Flacco rounded out a good day with a nice touchdown to Corey Davis, although Huff may have had a sack on the play;
  • La'Mical Perine scored on a short White pass; and
  • Practice ended on a TD pass from White to Black.

The Jets have a day off tomorrow morning.
