UFL update #1: Bryce Hall headlines the ex-Jets competing this spring
It's that time of the year when the UFL is about to get underway and we review which former Jets are participating with a view to getting back into the NFL.
We'll also keep an eye on any standouts that could interest the Jets in terms of being potential signings ahead of training camp. Recent UFL/XFL players to sign for the Jets include Adrian Martinez, Samuel Jackson, Liam Fornadel, Harrison Mevis and Kohl Levao. Fornadel and Levao are both still on the Jets' roster and Martinez and Mevis are in the NFL on other teams but Jackson returns to the UFL this year.
The biggest name in terms of ex-Jets participating this year is cornerback Bryce Hall, a 2020 draft pick who started 26 games in four years with the Jets. Guard Chris Glaser, who started a game for the 2023 Jets is also joining the league.
Wide receiver Denzel Mims also returns, although he already gave it a shot last year and was cut before the season.
Running back Deon Jackson (573 yards and eight touchdowns), wide receiver Isaiah Winstead (31 receptions), defensive end Pita Taumoepenu (7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles) and linebacker Anthony Hines III (55 tackles, five tackles for loss) were all productive in this league last year and figure to be among the top performers again.
Here's a comprehensive list of players currently on UFL rosters who have been signed to the Jets' roster or practice squad at some point in the recent past. How many of these names do you remember?
