UFL update: Ex-Jets DE Taumoepenu continues to stand out

We're now nearing the end of the 2026 UFL season, with the season finale coming up next weekend before the playoffs get underway, so let's update once again on how ex-Jets are faring in the annual spring league.

Running back Deon Jackson continues to be one of the main contributors. He had 97 yards on nine touches earlier today to temporarily move back into the lead as the league's top rusher with over 400 yards and six touchdowns.

There have only been two 100-yard games in the league this year though and one of them was by Jackson's teammate, another ex-Jets running back, Xazavian Valladay, last week. He had 107 last week but just 17 on nine carries today. In all, he has 233 and four touchdowns on the season. He is, however, leading the league in kickoff return average.

Having initially failed to make a team, another ex-Jet running back, James Robinson, was picked up last month and has been relatively productive with over 200 yards and three touchdowns in five games.

The only quarterback who was previously with the Jets that has seen action is Brandon Silvers, who has passed for 460 yards and two touchdowns in three appearances, all of which came before our previous update. He also has three interceptions.

A few ex-Jets pass catchers have made their mark, including Isaiah Winstead, who is eighth in the league for receiving yards and fourth in terms of yards per catch. In all, he has 365 yards and a touchdown on 24 catches. Tarik Black has added 22 catches for just under 300 yards with two touchdowns and Deontay Burnett has 14 catches for 152 yards and a score.

The top defensive standout has once again been edge rusher Pita Taumoepenu who has 5.5 sacks and a league-leading nine tackles for loss.

Defensive tackle Isaiah Mack has also done well with 21 tackles, six tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.

At linebacker, Anthony Hines III has 50 tackles, including 12 in one game and three for loss.

In our previous update we noted that former Jets cornerback Mario Goodrich had a pick-six. Since then, former Jets starter Bryce Hall also had one; the longest return in the UFL this year.

Another recent addition to the league was former Jets kicker Anders Carlson, who made three of three field goals earlier today.

If the Jets are looking to add a kicker from this league, as they did with Harrison Mevis last year, the standout has been Tanner Brown - a 26-year old who has been on NFL rosters before but not played in a regular season game. Brown has made 22 of his 25 field goals this season, with a long of 60 yards.
