Your Jet-Free Sunday early games thread

A relaxing Sunday is in store with the Jets having already played this week.

Here's what to watch out for in the early games:

  • New York Giants at Houston - The struggling Giants face a tough road matchup against the Texans as both teams look to avoid an 0-3 start. Saquon Barkley hasn't had much success running the ball behind a struggling offensive line, but did catch 14 passes on Sunday.
  • Denver at Baltimore - With Von Miller tied for the league lead in sacks and Case Keenum settling in, Denver is a surprise package with narrow wins against Seattle and Oakland and a real chance to go 3-0 against the Ravens. Baltimore destroyed the Bills in the opener but fell back to earth against the Bengals.
  • Tennessee at Jacksonville - This will be an interesting game with Jacksonville preparing to face the Jets next week. They're heavily favored in this one after having dismantled the Patriots last week.
  • Cincinnati at Carolina - The Bengals are one of the surprise packages in the league so far, led by AJ Green's four touchdown receptions and Joe Mixon's running. Christian McCaffery is also coming off a game where he caught 14 passes.
  • Green Bay at Washington - Both the Packers' games so far this year have been extremely entertaining and this one could be too. Aaron Rodgers has been excellent so far, but there's still concern over his knee for the longer term.
  • Indianapolis at Philadelphia - The Super Bowl champions are expected to bounce back after a disappointing loss to the Bucs last week. Andrew Luck's return has clearly made the Colts more competitive than in the past few seasons, though.
  • Buffalo at Minnesota - Buffalo is looking like one of the league's worst teams while Minnesota's defense is outstanding and Kirk Cousins has a chance to go to 2-0-1 in a game most experts think will be a blowout. That would be the best start of Cousins' career.
  • Oakland at Miami - The AFC East leading Dolphins (WTF?!?!) look to drop the Raiders to 0-3 on the year. Oakland's inability to create a pass rush has been an issue for them so far, whereas Miami were not particularly impressive in their win over the Jets.
  • San Francisco at Kansas City - The Chiefs are off to a hot start for the second year in a row, although this year they've been led by Patrick Mahomes who has had a record-setting tally of 10 touchdown passes in his first two starts. For San Francisco, they'll be looking to build off last week's win after Jimmy Garoppolo suffered his first loss as a starter in week one.
  • New Orleans at Atlanta - Both teams evaded an 0-2 start with a win last week but this could be an interesting matchup. One of the most interesting subplots around the league this year has been Julio Jones' red zone struggles. He has no red zone catches so far this season, after Matt Ryan was just 1-for-18 on passes into the end zone to Jones in 2017.
