Injury News: Bell, Cashman and Mims to be placed on three-week IR
This was not unexpected but a blow nevertheless following an inauspicious start to the season for the Jets' star running back:

Bell doesn't have to return in week five, so if the injury lingers he might remain on IR for a few weeks longer than that.
Frank Gore will take over as the number one back with Josh Adams, who was elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game and scored the Jets' second touchdown, a candidate for a bigger role.
Rookie La'Mical Perine is working his way back from an ankle injury and Kalen Ballage has yet to practice with the team after rumors suggested he will sign for the Jets emerged earlier today.
UPDATE:The Jets confirmed this move and also placed two others on IR as we had speculated might be the case earlier:
