Postgame: Jets 28 Broncos 37

A back-and-forth game saw Denver drop the Jets to 0-4 on the season, courtesy of a late Brandon McManus field goal.

Despite an early injury scare, Sam Darnold had some nice moments for the Jets, including a spectacular 46-yard scramble for the opening touchdown. However, the Jets were awful in the red zone all day and Darnold came up short on a late drive when he was sacked on fourth down near midfield. Melvin Gordon iced the win with a long touchdown run on the next play.

Pierre Desir had an eventful day, with two interceptions including one that he returned for a score. However, he gave up two huge plays including a touchdown on a play where the ball went right through his hands.

Unfortunately, there were more injuries with Chuma Edoga forced to leave the game and the already-hurt Mekhi Becton unable to stay in after initially replacing him. Blessuan Austin was lost to a calf injury too.

In terms of bright spots, Jamison Crowder had a 100-yard game and Jeff Smith also had a breakout performance. Darnold had a career-high 84 rushing yards.

Now attention turns to whether the Jets will make a coaching change, although that doesn't seem imminent. Whoever the coaching staff is will have a long week to prepare for Arizona in game number five with the prospect of reinforcements due to come from injured reserve.

We'll be back with plenty more analysis tomorrow...
