Roster News: Brian Poole placed on injured reserve

The Jets have confirmed the Pierre Desir release and a few other moves:

We have placed CB Brian Poole on IR and released CB Pierre Desir.

Additionally, we've signed TE Connor Davis to the practice squad.

We'll get a full injury update tomorrow but the Jets have already announced that Sam Darnold will not play on Sunday but that Mekhi Becton probably will. Quinnen Williams' status remains up in the air.

As we speculated when the Jets got Corey Ballentine, it seemed possible that Poole's injury was significant and they needed extra help in the slot. Arthur Maulet will probably step into Poole's role initially.

It was originally reported that Davis would be signed to the active roster but they obviously opted to put him on the practice squad instead. Either Davis or Bronson Kaufusi could be activated on Sunday if Ross Travis isn't back by then and the team insists on having four tight ends active.
