Roster News: Jets claim PK Myers, waive/injured WR Trinnaman

With Cairo Santos still nursing an injury, it was probably only a matter of time before the Jets added another kicker:

After starting off his pro career in the Arena League, Myers spent three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and led the league with seven field goals from beyond 50 yards in 2016. He also posted excellent kick-off numbers with an 80 percent touchback rate.

He was released last year, having missed four field goals and two extra points in the first six games. He had a fourth quarter field goal miss in the Jaguars' overtime loss against the Jets in 2017.

If the Jets have lost patience with Santos, he'll perhaps be released with an injury settlement, allowing Myers to duke it out with Taylor Bertolet, who did well in the first two preseason games. However, the corresponding move has yet to be announced, so we'll update when it is.

UPDATE: Rookie wide receiver Jonah Trinnaman, who has missed practice over the last week or so, was waived/injured in the corresponding move.
