Roster News: Jets place Corey Davis on IR, make other moves

The Jets have opened the week with some housekeeping:

We already knew Davis was out for the season so there's no surprise here. Wilson wasn't getting any reps so letting him go - perhaps to catch on with a team that has postseason aspirations - seems reasonable.

Ammendola perhaps wouldn't have been invited back if Alex Kessman's debut had gone a little better but it makes sense for the Jets to have another option available, especially with Eddy Pineiro having a history of groin injuries.

The 23-year old Black has some nice size at 6'3" and a 40-inch vertical so he could be a good project to develop into a red zone threat. The rookie Black was undrafted out of Texas and has yet to make his NFL debut. He caught five passes for 81 yards and had one special teams tackle for the Colts in preseason.
