The Jets made one more move on Tuesday:
We've signed RB Austin Walter to the active roster.— New York Jets (@nyjets) December 7, 2021
Walter has generated 49 yards and a touchdown on 13 touches over the last two games as the third string running back. Adding him to the active roster means he can continue to be active now that they've used up his two practice squad elevations.
Ace Carter should be back soon which might mean that this is just a temporary move. However, with La'Mical Perine inactive despite Carter's absence, perhaps Walter will stick on the 53-man roster and Perine will be the one to go when Carter is back. Walter needs to make the most of his opportunities in the next few weeks to try and push for some of Ty Johnson's or Tevin Coleman's reps.
