After losing Maurice Canady, the Jets have secured the services of one of their other young cornerbacks:
Maulet, who was released and re-signed in the middle of the season, played both as a slot corner and an outside starter last season. He started six games, intercepted one pass and even scored a touchdown on a muffed punt, but made a couple of bad mistakes in the last game of the season.
The Jets opted not to tender Maulet at $2.1 million so you can expect this deal to be for less than that. It also removes the possibility of another team signing him to an offer sheet.
