Roster News: Jets re-sign QB James Morgan to the practice squad

The Jets made another move, bringing back someone they cut after preseason:

Morgan, a fourth round pick last year, was released at the end of preseason despite some late game heroics in the Bollinger Bowl. Since leaving the Jets, he's spent time on the practice squad of the Panthers and Steelers.

The Jets give themselves some cover and someone who knows the system with two of their quarterbacks on the Covid-19 reserve list. Maybe they still believe he has an NFL future too. You'll recall that they initially planned to put him on their own practice squad but he opted for a fresh start with Carolina.

Jamerson never got a chance on the active roster with the Jets who perhaps no longer need him now that Elijah Riley has seen his first action.
