Roster News: Jets sign Charles to 53, two more to practice squad

The Jets confirmed the inevitable along with some more moves...

Roster moves:

- Signed WR Irvin Charles to the active roster
- Placed OL Alijah Vera-Tucker on IR
- Signed OL Dennis Kelly and DL Elerson Smith to the practice squad
- Released DL Jalyn Holmes from the practice squad

Charles earned his spot with his impact last week and will be needed to play gunner until Brandin Echols returns.

Kelly and Smith are interesting additions. Kelly is a veteran with 50 NFL starts under his belt and familiarity with some Jets coaches. Smith was a good draft prospect a few years ago but the former fourth rounder hasn't got his career off the ground yet, mainly due to injuries.
