Roster News: Jets sign LB Kwon Alexander
The Jets have made a significant move today:
Former 49ers’ and Saints’ linebacker Kwon Alexander is signing a one-year deal with the New York Jets, per source. Alexander played for Jets HC Robert Saleh in San Francisco.

Alexander is a former pro bowler who was briefly the highest paid off-ball linebacker in NFL history a few years ago. However, he's had injury issues over the past few seasons. He started eight games with the Saints last year and had 50 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two passes defensed and an interception.
If the Jets remain committed to CJ Mosley and Quincy Williams as full-time inside linebackers, Alexander will be useful cover and can contribute as the third linebacker in base packages and situationally.
No corresponding move has been announced yet but the Jets will need to release someone to make room.
