Roster News: Jets sign RB Dalvin Cook

The Jets made a big late-night move albeit one that's been coming for some time:

The base salary is reportedly $7 million with the rest in incentives and provides the Jets with a veteran hedge for Breece Hall not being ready to start the season.

While the Jets perhaps felt good about Ace Carter, Bam Knight and Izzy Abanikanda handling the rushing workload between them, it's likely the team lacked confidence in any of them to be charged with picking up the blitz. Cook at least has experience in that area, even if he isn't elite at it.

We'll have more on this signing in due course.
