Roster News: Jets sign safety Nacua

One position where the Jets may be particularly shorthanded this weekend is at safety so they've brought in some extra cover:

The 26-year old Nacua was undrafted in 2017 and the Jets will be his sixth NFL team. He was in San Francisco last year but only played three defensive snaps in Robert Saleh's defense. Nacua did make three starts for the Browns in his rookie season. He has 15 tackles, a tackle for loss and two quarterback hits in 22 NFL games.

Nacua is a good athlete with sub-4.5 speed and a 39-inch vertical so should at least be able to come in and help out on special teams.

The Jets have their top three safeties currently unavailable with Ashtyn Davis and Sharrod Neasman on Covid-19 reserve and Elijah Riley in concussion protocol. The team recently added Will Parks to the active roster and a few other players to the practice squad, though.
