Roster News: Jets sign safety Neasman

The Jets are apparently making another roster move:

The 29-year old is listed at 5'11" and 213 and made the first two starts of his NFL career last season. For his career, he has 77 tackles, four passes defensed, a sack and a fumble recovery.

He played most of his snaps as a deep safety in 2020, although he's played a more versatile role in the past. Neasman is also a core special teams contributor.

The Jets have Lamarcus Joyner, Marcus Maye and Ashtyn Davis pretty much locked in as their top three although Maye is currently in the process of trying to secure a long-term deal and Davis won't be healthy until training camp as he rehabs his foot injury from last year. Beyond those three there should be at least one roster spot available and JT Hassell, who intercepted his second pass in as many weeks today, currently looks like one of the main front-runners for that fourth safety spot.

We'll let you know if we hear who will be released to make room for the new addition.
