The Jets made another move to shore up their short term tackle depth:
New York Jets signed offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi, a former Bengals first-round draft pick from Texas A&M, off Texans' practice squad, per a league source— Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL) September 27, 2022
Since he was signed off another team's practice squad, Ogbuehi would be, by rule, guaranteed a spot on the Jets' 53-man roster for at least three weeks. This perhaps makes him a more likely candidate to start on Sunday than Mike Remmers, who was signed off the street onto the practice squad.
Either way, it's evident the Jets are concerned that George Fant might not be available and that they're not confident in Conor McDermott as a temporary stand-in after how much he struggled on Sunday.
