The Jets are making another move:
Jets are waiving safety Sheldrick Redwine, per source.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) September 21, 2021
This isn't altogether surprising because Redwine hadn't seen the field on defense since he got burned for a touchdown by Robby Anderson in the opener. Adrian Colbert, who replaced him and has done reasonably well, was added to the 53-man roster yesterday.
Redwine, who was signed after final cuts, had been called into action earlier than expected when Lamarcus Joyner suffered a season-ending injury less than 10 snaps into the season.
He could theoretically be added back to the practice squad but that's perhaps unlikely as they obviously lost faith in him after that error in the Panthers game. The Jets also have Jarrod Wilson on their roster and will get some reinforcements at safety soon because Ashtyn Davis is eligible to return after the Broncos game.
