The next order of business will be to extend Quinnen Williams, after which Woods, Solomon Thomas and Quinton Jefferson will vie for playing time alongside him.
The 330-pound Woods is 36 and the Jets will be his 11th NFL team. He has never been with any franchise for more than three years, but has plenty of experience with 78 career starts including 30 the past two years. He had 39 tackles and two sacks last year in 375 snaps.
