The Jets are making another move, after Ross Travis landed on the Covid-19 reserve list earlier today:
#Jets are signing TE Connor Davis, per source. Former @StonyBrookFB standout spent time with them in training camp. Was set to attend @HubFootball2020 free-agent camp this weekend. Multiple teams interested.— Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) November 13, 2020
Here's what we wrote about Davis when the Jets signed him back in August:
Davis is a 6'8" tight end from Stony Brook and played in both the AAF and XFL last year. During that time, he got some playing time at tackle as well, so he could be viewed as a developmental prospect. He played both offensive and defensive line in college.
This is a bit of a shame because it would have been kind of cool to see Bronson Kaufusi get some reps at tight end and he presumably would have been the next man up since. the Jets insist on keeping four active every week.
