Roster News: Siemian signed to active roster

This move was always pretty inevitable:

Jets signed QB Trevor Siemian to their active roster and CB Craig James to their practice squad.

Siemian will serve as the number two on Sunday with Wilson as the number three. The Jets can exploit the new rule that allows a team to name one of their three quarterback as inactive but still have him eligible to play if the first two go down.

Moving Siemian up opened a spot which was perhaps expected to go to Tanzel Smart but it's clear that guys like James and Smart will likely remain on speed-dial and could be back at any moment. We could still see Smart in the rotation this weekend.
