Here's the update we've all been waiting for:
Jets QB Zach Wilson has a bone bruise and meniscus tear, per sources. He will miss 2-4 weeks. He will get a second opinion, but that is the belief right now.— Brian Costello (@BrianCoz) August 13, 2022
Joe Flacco will be the starter for the time being, with Mike White deputizing.
Wilson will not be eligible to go onto the PUP list and can't be placed onto injured reserve until the day after rosters are cut down to 53. He would then be eligible to return after FOUR weeks (this is a new rule). This would also count towards the new limit of eight injured reserve players returning per team in the 2022 season. He may well just have to eat up a roster spot until he can play again, then.
We will update if the prognosis changes...
