Roster News: Jets sign Marqui Christian (for real this time)

Back in March, the Jets were reported to have signed safety Marqui Christian, only for the deal to fall through. Now, though...

Christian is a 25-year old former fifth-round pick. He played in 55 games over the past four years with the Rams and made the first start of his career last season. He has 83 tackles and three passes defensed while playing a versatile role on defense. He's also a special teams contributor with 11 career tackles in kick coverage. That was his primary role in his first two seasons.

The original one-year deal was reportedly worth $1.25 million but could potentially rise to $2 million with incentives. It will be interesting to see what he got in the end.

The Jets had an open spot on their roster so they will not need to make a corresponding move at this stage.
