Roster News: Malone signed to active roster, Maulet to IR

The Jets opened the week with a minor move:

We've signed WR Josh Malone to the active roster and placed CB Arthur Maulet on IR.

Maulet had not played on defense yet, but is a core special teamer and started games both at outside corner and in the slot last year.

Malone had been elevated from the practice squad for the first two games, during which time he played both as a kick returner and at wide receiver.

Jeff Smith and Vyncint Smith are eligible to come off injured reserve after the next game and the status of Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder is up in the air for Sunday's game against the Colts. Denzel Mims is eligible to return one week later than the Smiths.

The Jets also announced that they have released Paul Worrilow from their practice squad.
